A lovely Sunday arvo (:

It's a beautiful Sunday arvo (hahah Pam i'm kope-ing your aussie slang), Linkin Park's latest album is blasting on my speakers right now. (hyperventilates a little). I HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS. Heh.. Beeeg fan. Anyways, their latest album sounds really great! It's much less angsty, but instead it's all emo. Less of the SHOUTING, more of the .. whining/ ranting/ moaning. I like.. Quite odd though, usually it's so noisy when I play their music that I can't hear anything else.. but for some strange reason it seems so soft now, I have to keep on increasing the volume. Ah maybe it's my speakers.. who knows. They should really specify what volume is best to listen to their music. I personally find that listening to music at different volumes produces different effects and thus induces different emotions. Angsty music should be REALLY LOUD, and emo music should be medium-ish. Classical should be soft and soothing.

Yes, moving on. I've been trying very hard to be more intellectual (one of my goals for this june hols) lately.. Visited the library yesterday with the family (after a very very long window shopping session), kinda miss our Saturday library outings..back then when EVERYONE was around. Funny how one's taste for books changes over the years. Back in primary school, it was "The Adventures of Mary-kate and Ashley", "Full House", "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" and a whole load of Roald Dahl books. Then I moved to more intellectual things like plays- the likes of Stella Kon and Michael Chiang. Boy was I hooked on those.. If i'm not wrong, I've borrowed every single one of Stella Kon's plays available in the library. Then everyone got a lot more busy and we stopped going as often. Harry Potter craze took over so I ended up begging the parents to buy them for me :D Have the whole collection sitting neatly on my shelf .. AM DYING TO READ THE LATEST BOOK. Right, and in between waiting intervals for the latest Harry Potter book, I got hooked onto Dan Brown :D Hrmmm, and then I think I got really lazy and started watching a whole load of TV. Under the influence of Kell, I went all fangirly over Grey's and Prison Break! Bwahah. NOBUTA! Which we watched happily in class during the last term of school.. I MISS NOBUTA.

Hah hm ok enough reminiscing.. I came across this really interesting article about people-tracking using RFID tags and Wi-fi. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6691139.stm)

Angelo Lamme, from Motorola, said tracking students on a campus could help during a fire or an emergency.

"You would know where your people are at any given moment," he said.

Can you imagine that?! A whole room of people monitoring where every single student is.. not just for fire emergencies, but I don't know..for lessons or something. It'll be like the whole school population is under house school arrest! Step one centimetre out of the school gate and an alarm sounds- security guards tackle you and then send you for detention in "the shoe". Hahaha. Ok too much Prison Break and Desperate Housewives. But that'll be really scary... Then nobody can pon lessons anymore! (not saying that I condone the ponning of lessons :D hehheh) Say you're hiding in the toilet during some lecture of sorts (I have never done this before.), and then the teacher sees your little red dot on the computer screen flickering in the toilet.. he/she then sends guards to capture you and drag you into the LT. !! I hope that Singapore schools never use RFID tags. And if we do use them, I hope that I am out of school by then. Oh no the article says that these things can be used in the workplace as well... Drats. Somehow ..this tracking thing reminds me of the "marauder's map" from Harry Potter.

Ok my throat is killing me. Green phelgm spewing all over the place. I am really wondering why my body is reacting in this way.. refusing to recover! More than a week already.. darnit. Time to whip out those books again..

[pat]* decided to runaway-.
